‘Revolutions I’ is the first part of an ongoing series exploring interconnectivity, capturing the continuous sky above and winding roads below during a long-distance motorcycle journey in the autumn of 2024.

Each circular image is formed from 360-degree drone photographs taken along the route. What began as a journey from the UK to Greece unfolded into a wider loop of departure and return, as chance encounters and invitations led further afield, continuously reshaping the path.

Spanning multiple countries, the images are presented in a uniform square grid, all part of the same canvas, symbolising tradition and unity. Within this structure, the circles form self-contained loops, each a distinct world, interconnected yet unique, inviting the viewer to step closer and celebrate the richness found in our contrasts.

‘Revolutions I’ challenges the fear of the unfamiliar. Through repetition and return, the unknown becomes recognised. The hardship of life on the road, contrasted with the generosity and kindness of strangers, provokes a rethinking of our approach to difference. By fostering curiosity and a willingness to learn, we can create a feedback loop of change, one small intellectual revolution at a time.

About the artist

Tobias Alexander is a UK-based multidisciplinary artist exploring movement, place, and shared experience. As a teacher, filmmaker, musician, and visual artist, he creates playful, interactive work driven by storytelling and curiosity. Often travelling by motorcycle, he captures life on the road through 360-degree and drone photography. He is currently developing his Revolutions series, transforming these journeys into large-scale aeroscapes and kinetic installations.

We aim to deliver custom prints within 2-4 weeks. As each print is handmade to order they take a little longer to prepare. We’ll dispatch your order as soon as it is ready, separately from any other items.
