The photographs situate themselves together in a way similar to literary multiperspectivity - folding disparate subjects into a singular storyline. Harkening back to alchemical influence, several works overlay one another, invoking a sense of mystery; obscurity. An unreliable narrator, confusing the setting - one memory folded into another. Or a figure - that of stone - familiar in allure but indistinguishable from another. Unidentifiable in the waking hours of the day, a psychodrama between what is witnessed and what is impressed upon.

About the artist

Daniel John Bracken is a London based visual artist working with photography - as a means to document senescence and contemporary convalescence. Originally from New York, he studied Photography at the Royal College of Art. His works meditate on the synchronicities among memory, grief and the photographic. They’re all connected, like roots in the woods.
